Events for Saturday, July 10, 2021
For over five years, photographer Jess T. Dugan and social worker Vanessa Fabbre traveled throughout the United States documenting the life stories of transgender and gender nonconforming older adults, individuals whose experiences exist within the complex intersections of gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, sexuality, socioeconomic class, and geographic location.
Bea Nettles explores the narrative potential of photography through constructed images often made with alternative photographic processes. This exhibition originally opened on January 31, 2020, but just six weeks later, the museum had to close due to COVID-19 and a virtual version was offered online. Now, the Eastman Museum is pleased to bring the exhibition back to our galleries for visitors to explore in person.
Members only. We welcome members back for our first in-person gallery talk in over a year in the newly reopened exhibition Bea Nettles: Harvest of Memory .
SOLD OUT See Rochester in a new way. A nod to George Eastman’s own love of cycling, the George Eastman Bike Tour will take you to ten different locations related to the life and work of this pioneer of popular photography and famous Rochesterian.
