Eatery Associate (Part-time)

Job Title: Eatery Associate–Part Time
Department: Open Face at Eastman Museum
Working Hours:  Varies 8 a.m.-6 p.m., 15-20 hours/week
Start Date:  Immediately
Posting Dates:  January 14, 2022 until filled


This position is responsible for daily food prep, lunch service, and catering orders.  Serves food and beverages to all visitors of Open Face. The position is part time and requires the incumbent to work weekdays, some weekends, and holidays.


  1. Prepare and serve food and beverages according to eatery standards.  Food preparation to include chopping, baking, slicing, mixing, and roasting.  Must be able to follow recipes and produce consistent products.
  2. Preparation and presentation of catering luncheons.
  3. Cash register sales, including taking customer orders, handling cash and credit card transactions.
  4. Provide exemplary customer service to all patrons in the eatery.
  5. Follow all proper food handling and safety procedures in the eatery.
  6. Assists visitors with their selections in the eatery.
  7. Wipe down eatery tables, sweep and mop eatery floors, wash eatery dishes, and keep equipment and facilities clean and sanitary according to code.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Candidates should possess a high school diploma.
  2. Experience in a restaurant or other food service environment is required.
  3. Excellent demonstratable customer service skills are a must.
  4. Possess good verbal communication and basic math skills.
  5. This position requires standing, walking, lifting (25lbs), carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling, handling, speaking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  6. Work is primarily performed in a setting with moderate to light noise.  Exposure to heat sources (oven and coffee maker) and hazardous equipment (knives, meat slicers, etc.)
