The 3rd Nitrate Picture Show. The Nitrate Picture Show, the world’s first festival of film conservation, returns for a third year. Don’t miss your chance to see vintage nitrate prints from international archives—including the Eastman Museum’s own collection. The weekend also includes lectures, workshops, and other opportunities to experience the art and science of film preservation, from print conservation to archival projection.

One of the best nitrate prints held by the National Film Center, the central Japanese film archival institution, this copy is made from at least two different sources, with some visible scratches. Also visible is some very slight and very occasional nitrate decomposition.
