Changes to Eastman Museum Membership

The following changes to the Eastman Museum membership program are in effect as of Friday, July 1, 2022.

Read more below and take a look at our new membership benefits grid

Member Appreciation Week: Mark your calendar for August 16–21, 2022, when we will be celebrating our members with special programs, extra discounts, and giveaways.

Reciprocal Benefits through NARM (for Contributor-level members and above): Enjoy free admission and other perks at over 1,000 museums, zoos, and other cultural institutions. Visit the NARM (North American Reciprocal Museum) Association website for a full list of participating organizations.

We will be slightly restructuring our general membership levels for simplicity:

  • Dual/Household will be replaced with a Family level that provides free admission benefits for two adults (of any age) and all children or grandchildren under the age of 18. This level is the perfect fit for both parents with children and grandparents who enjoy visiting the museum with their grandchildren.
  • We will also be adding a straightforward Dual level with benefits for two adults regardless of age, and will be discontinuing separate Senior options (at the individual and dual levels).
  • Contributor levels and above will be unchanged.

Like many cultural organizations, the Eastman Museum faces rising costs of operating, providing quality exhibitions and programs, and retaining our talented staff. We will be making modest increases to membership prices (between $5 and $50 depending on level) for the first time in five years to help ensure that we can continue to carry out our mission.

Language around Eastman Museum membership tax-deductibility will also be updated to more accurately reflect the benefits that our members enjoy. The value of museum and Dryden film passes will no longer be a deductible part of a membership contribution. Membership contributions will continue to be partially deductible and anyone who opts to donate via a Donor Advised Fund or IRA can simply waive their tangible membership benefits.

All of the benefits you've enjoyed as a member will remain. You will continue to enjoy free admission, guest passes, members-only programs (both on-site and online, as well our virtual Vimeo library of past event recordings), discounts, and more. We aren't taking any benefits away and are just adding new ones.

None of the work we do for our community would be possible without the incredibly generous commitment of our members, many of whom have been supporting the museum for decades. We are so grateful for all that you have done and all that you continue to do for the George Eastman Museum. Thank you.
