Security Guard/ Museum Host (FULL-TIME)

Working Hours: Non-Exempt, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (includes weekends)
Pay Rate: $17.50 - $18.70 per hour 

What you will do: 
  • Your role will combine security, safety, and visitor service.
  • Help keep visitors, staff, volunteers, students, and collections safe
  • Respond calmly and quickly to emergencies and safety concerns
  • Protect restricted areas and help prevent theft or unauthorized activity
  • Help create a welcoming, professional, and inclusive visitor experience
  • Clearly document incidents and communicate important information
  • Work with Security, Facilities, and other Museum teams

You don't have to be a career security professional to appreciate this opportunity. We are looking for someone who is observant, dependable, professional, and comfortable working with people.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid New York State Security Guard License
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Security or law enforcement experience  
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old
