Work independently and with museum colleagues to develop, execute, deliver, and advance the museum’s educational initiatives, programs, and materials for children and young adults in school groups (grades 4–12), or visiting with their family or virtually (Pre-K to 12). Collaborate with school teachers and administrators.
Provide exemplary customer service to all museum patrons at the Welcome Center, Museum Café (Open Face) and Museum Shop, as assigned. Primary function will be to provide support to the Museum Café preparing and serving food and beverages. Will assist in the Museum Shop or Welcome Center as needed. Will welcome visitors, answer questions, and highlight important areas of the museum to ensure an outstanding visitor experience. This position is part time with varied hours and requires the incumbent to work weekdays, weekends, some evenings, and holidays.
The Assistant Director of Development is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Development in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership annual campaign gifts and major gifts in support of the museum’s funding priorities. Additionally, the Assistant Director will establish and manage his/her own portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation prospects in the Greater Rochester area and beyond, with a focus on securing high-level annual fund gifts, exhibition sponsorship and support for public programs, and bequests.
