Job Title: Chef Associate 1 at Open Face
Pay Rate: $17.60 per hour (Additional pay on average $5-6 per hour for tips)
Working Hours: Between 20 – 35 hours per week

CORE:
Chef Associate 1 is responsible for crafting and refining menu items and culinary concepts to embody the overall vision. This role includes customer service, daily operations, and food prep.
CORE DUTIES:
- Curate and coordinate food specials and menu offerings.
- Create, refine, and launch new recipes.
- Maintain recipe and quality standards documentation.
UNIVERSAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide genuine customer service.
- Nurture peer guidance.
- Maintain exceptional product and brand knowledge.
- Accurately and efficiently input Square POS orders.
- Intentionally build and plate menu items.
- Expedite and deliver food orders.
- Consistently and accurately implement recipes.
- Execute precise prepping, slicing, and portioning.
- Clean and reset work surfaces, equipment, and dining areas.
- Perform daily dishwashing.
- Open and close the eatery.
- Maintain inventory and manage stock.
- Prep and fulfill catering orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Monroe County Food Safety Certification.
- Guest service/visitor engagement skills.
- Desire to excel in the hospitality industry.
- Comprehensive food service experience.
- Intentional, meticulous, and organized.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and effective communication skills.
- Maintain quality and consistency in performance and product.
- Maximize time management in a dynamic setting.
- Standing, walking, lifting (25lbs), carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling, handling, speaking, hearing, reading, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Work is primarily performed in moderate to light noise. Exposure to heat sources (oven and coffee maker, steam tables, etc.), hazardous equipment (knives, meat slicers, etc.), and cleaning agents (dish detergents, sanitizer, etc.).
