This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative side of food and the hands-on energy of a busy eatery. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop food specials, create and refine recipes, maintain quality standards, and help shape the experience we provide to every guest. Positions offer variable working hours and include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Working Hours: Non-Exempt, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (includes weekends)
Pay Rate: $16.50 - $18.30 per hour (Additional pay on average $5-6 per hour for tips)
Create Great Food
- Create, refine, test, and launch new recipes.
- Maintain accurate recipe, preparation, and quality-standard documentation.
- Consistently execute recipes with precision and attention to detail.
Provide Excellent Experiences
- Build meaningful connections with museum visitors, locals, and fellow team members.
- Expedite and deliver food orders with a focus on quality, presentation, and timing.
- Nurture peer guidance and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Keep Eatery Running Strong
- Complete daily food preparation and maintain consistent product quality.
- Keep workspaces, equipment, and dining areas clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Open and close the eatery according to established procedures.
Universal Responsibilities:
- Provide genuine customer service.
- Nurture peer guidance.
- Maintain exceptional product and brand knowledge.
- Accurately and efficiently input Square POS orders.
- Expedite and deliver food orders.
- Consistently and accurately implement recipes.
- Execute precise prepping, slicing, and portioning.
- Clean and reset work surfaces, equipment, and dining areas.
- Perform daily dishwashing.
- Open and close the eatery.
- Maintain inventory and manage stock.
- Prep and fulfill catering orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Guest service/visitor engagement skills.
- Desire to excel in the hospitality industry.
- Monroe County Food Safety Certification.
- Food service experience.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and effective communication skills.
- Maintain quality and consistency in performance and product.
- Maximize time management in a dynamic setting.
- Standing, walking, lifting (25lbs), carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling, handling, speaking, hearing, reading, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Work is primarily performed in moderate to light noise. Exposure to heat sources (oven and coffee maker, steam tables, etc.), hazardous equipment (knives, meat slicers, etc.), and cleaning agents (dish detergents, sanitizer, etc.).
