Job Title: Web and Multimedia Content Producer
Department: Marketing and Engagement
FLSA Status/Pay: Exempt, Full time, $52,000-$58,000 per year
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Senior Director of Marketing & Engagement and Director of IT or designee, as needed, on strategic planning and budgeting for all online and related activities.
- Create and maintain dynamic and interactive content for the museum's website.
- Manage the schedule for content and contributors for all museum web and video channels.
- Lead strategic planning, content creation, story mining, and execution for all GEM web and video channels.
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of Google Analytics for all online activity, and for communicating these reports as needed.
- Work with web host to ensure timely, efficient, and effective maintenance and updates of our Drupal based website (currently version 11) and other related components and to ensure that the website is conforming with current best practices and standards.
- Optimize website content and structure for discoverability across traditional and emerging search environments, including SEO, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Engagement department and Director of IT or designee to ensure that the website and all online environments are well planned and documented, thoughtfully laid out, commented, and within the overall strategy of the museum.
- Lead production of virtual tours, collaborate with artists, curators, and Digital Asset Coordinator to develop content and publish. Look for new opportunities to use in creative ways.
- Maintain the museum Bloomberg Connects digital guide, including story mining, recording, editing, and publishing audio tours for exhibitions and collections, as well as producing reports on analytics.
- Work with curators, exhibitions staff, and Director of IT or designee to envision, create, and maintain digital interactives.
- Produce narrative video content, including story mining, script development, video capture, editing, and release.
- Oversee video budget.
- Support and train staff who work on the museum’s website and other digital tools, as needed.
- Create and execute surveys to learn more about audiences, analyze and present data from surveys across departments and integrate into future strategy.
- Stay up to date on opportunities and challenges faced by the non-profit, museum, and associated industries as it relates to technology, including accessibility.
- Identify digital opportunities and suggest projects involving the web, mobile, and beyond. Work with Marketing and Engagement staff, Director of IT or designee to implement.
- Perform other responsibilities/projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing and Engagement.
- Work environment is an office setting with moderate to light noise. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling a maximum of 35 pounds.
Museum Qualifications, Experience Requirements:
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of new media and web/digital-based technology.
- Leadership in digital engagement.
- Ability to anticipate emerging online trends and lead museum engagement where appropriate.
- Writing, videography, and creativity.
- Experience with Google (GA4) analytics.
- Knowledge of AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) best practices for optimizing web content for AI-driven search and discovery.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere, InDesign.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Knowledge of Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and Drupal preferred.
