(Gregory La Cava, US 1934, 86 min., 16mm)

Riskin and Wray. In this four-handed romantic comedy, the duke and duchess de Medici (Frank Morgan and Constance Bennett) are bored with each other and looking for other amusements. The duchess has her eye on the goldsmith Cellini (Fredric March), while the duke fancies Cellini’s model Angela (Fay Wray). Trying to avoid a death sentence for murder and his other amorous adventures, Cellini attempts to navigate the machinations of the Italian royalty and bring about a happy end for everyone. This title was personally chosen for this series by Victoria Riskin, author of Fay Wray and Robert Riskin: A Hollywood Memoir (2019) and daughter of Wray and Riskin.
