(Il fiore delle mille e una notte, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italy/France 1974, 130 min., 35mm, Italian w/subtitles)

Period Dramas. Adapting the ancient Arabic collection of stories One Thousand and One Nights, Pasolini creates an exotic, dreamlike utopia of sexual delights and endless possibilities. This globetrotting production breathtakingly showcases the landscapes of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Nepal, and Yemen. Arabian Nights is the third and final part of Pasolini’s Trilogy of Life, which also includes The Decameron (screening June 7) and The Canterbury Tales (June 8).
