Always at the Dryden | Special Introduction. A special selection of the best new animation straight from the Black Maria Film Festival in New Jersey, this program of ten films features many different styles of animation and covers a range of topics. These include sketches of New York City, Mary Pickford and Janet Gaynor cast in a surreal epic, an eighteenth-century magic show, a true crime set in 1960 Buenos Aires, Percy Shelley’s poem “The Dirge,” Narcotics Anonymous, First Nation land in northwest Canada, and bizarre weather driving through Arizona in 1973. 

Special introduction by Peter Murphey, assistant professor of film and animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology and filmmaker of one of the selections in the program.
