Originally shot on 35mm color reversal film, brouillard passage #14 is a work that exists both as a 35mm short film and as a digital video loop, as exhibited here. Alexandre Larose, one of the most prominent contemporary Canadian film artists, recorded, over and over again, a tracking shot that extends from his family’s backyard into Lac-Saint-Charles (Québec City). He then condensed dozens and dozens of shots into a single multilayered “phantom ride” that questions our perceptions of time and space, dreams and reality.
