Bollywood and Beyond!. As the former captain of the Indian men’s national field hockey team, Kabir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) knows “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.” A loss to Pakistan leads to Khan’s firing, but seven years later, he’s the only option to take a ragtag group of young women and build them into the national women’s team. Their goal is to win the World Cup in Australia, but their star player, Vidya (Vidya Malvade), has traditional-thinking parents who object to her playing, and problems from bullying to seduction may derail them.
