Želimir Žilnik | Filmmaker in Person. Before the recent European migrant drama exploded into a humanitarian disaster that was consequently exploited by both media and politicians, the ever-watchful Želimir Žilnik noticed something amiss in his native Serbia: a sudden increase of migrants from war-torn and poverty-stricken areas of North Africa and the Middle East. Unlike several other films and news reports on the same subject, which chose to see migrants as an anonymous horde that should either be pitied or feared, Žilnik provides ample space for individuals to introduce themselves and display their values, so that the viewers can identify with them and begin to understand their struggles.
