Honored with three awards at the Cannes Film Festival, Take Shelter follows Curtis (Michael Shannon), who works for a drilling operation in Northern Ohio. The job brings him not only income for his family, but also the medical benefits to support a cochlear implant for his daughter. When Curtis starts suffering from nightmares of an approaching apocalyptic storm, it affects his life. He starts pushing people away and prepares an underground shelter in his backyard without telling his wife, Samantha (Jessica Chastain). Curtis’s erratic behavior puts his job at risk, and he fears that he suffers from the same mental illness as his mother. Soon, he is unable to separate his visions from the world around him. But what if the threat is real?
