Enjoy an hour-long performance by flutist Jaclyn Breeze and pianist Laura Freeman. They will present selections from a variety of music including baroque, romantic, contemporary, and jazz!
Breeze is an American composer crafting music that bridges the gap between modern composition and classical jazz harmony. Her concert works and art songs have been commissioned and performed by groups in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Breeze is also an active performer, earning her bachelors degree in flute performance from Roberts Wesleyan College. While there she studied composition under American media composer, Seth Wright. She recently earned her master's degree in composition from Syracuse University where she studied with Dr. Nicolas Scherzinger. She continues to study composition and perform some of her own flute music written within the last year.
Laura Freeman is a collaborative pianist from Rochester, NY. She completed a B.S. in Piano Performance at Roberts Wesleyan University and then earned an M.M. in Collaborative Piano from Syracuse University where she was a graduate assistant, working as a collaborative pianist for several vocal and instrumental recitals each semester and teaching three piano skills classes for non-majors.
Laura made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2022 in a concert representing Syracuse University. She was also selected to attend the Opera Viva! Young Artists Program in Verona, Italy in 2022 and the Professional Piano Program at SongFest 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee with mezzo-soprano, Madison Karten.
