In the early 1890s, William Sachtleben and Thomas Allen Jr. circled the globe on newfangled “safety” bicycles, taking hundreds of snapshots with a Kodak No. 2 along the way. In this illustrated talk, David V. Herlihy, historian and author of Bicycle: The History, will discuss how these images were narrowly saved.
Free to members; included w/museum admission. Talk only: $6 general, $3 students.
