One of the oldest photographs in the museum's collection was made in Mexico in 1839, the year the invention of photography was announced in Paris. In conjunction with her History of Photography installation, Assistant Curator of Photography Heather Shannon uses the daguerreotype as a starting point to explore the history of the medium through photographs made in Mexico.
