In 2017, the George Eastman Museum received a large gift of photographs by David Levinthal, making this institution the most significant repository of this internationally renowned artist’s work in the world. How did this come to be? What is the significance of the gift, and what is happening behind the scenes of the museum to make the material publicly accessible?
