(György Pálfi, Hungary 2002, 78 min., 35mm, Hungarian and Czech, w/ subtitles)

Special Event: Curator’s Choice. To honor Paolo Cherchi Usai, the departing Senior Curator of our Moving Image Department, we asked him to present one of his favorite films for his final introduction in the Dryden Theatre. He chose two. The first is Hukkle, a nearly wordless film that chronicles a day in the life of a small village. Through a true marriage of image and sound, the film reveals many details of life in the village, small and large, man, animal and nature, amounting to what seems to be an atypical day in this community.
