Holidays | A Very Shane Black Christmas. Screenwriter Shane Black began his fascination with Christmas in this holiday-themed action classic. Close-to-retirement Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is thrown together with head case Riggs (Mel Gibson) in the investigation into a young girl’s death from chemical-laced barbiturates. Riggs’s actions and infatuation with firepower lead Murtaugh to declare him a “lethal weapon,” but when their investigation leads to former CIA and special forces operatives, they’ll need each other to survive. Riggs’s undercover work selling Christmas trees and a fight in front of Murtaugh’s decorated house ring in the holiday fun.
