The Muppet Movie

Sunday, May 8, 2016, 2 p.m., Dryden Theatre

(James Frawley, UK/US 1979, 95 min., 35mm)

Dryden Kids. Compelled to leave his swamp to pursue a dream of stardom, Kermit the Frog makes a long and funny journey to Hollywood. Along the way, he makes friends with Fozzie Bear and the Great Gonzo and finds love in the arms of Miss Piggy, all while eluding evil frog-leg restaurateur Doc Hopper (Charles Durning). In their first feature-length outing, Jim Henson’s beloved creations are brought vividly, magically to life. The amazing supporting cast of cameo performers features Bob Hope, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, Orson Welles, and Mel Brooks, and the score by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher includes “The Rainbow Connection” and “Movin’ Right Along.”
