Sabrina

Tuesday, May 7, 2019, 7:30 p.m., Dryden Theatre

(Billy Wilder, US 1954, 113 min., 35mm)

Eastman Entertains. Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn) is the daughter of the chauffeur for the Larrabee family. When she returns from two years of school in Paris, she reconnects with David Larrabee (William Holden), the younger brother, whom she had pined for before she left. Knowing that a relationship with the irresponsible, thrice-divorced David would be bad for both Sabrina and his business, older brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) attempts to woo Sabrina away from David. Bogart plays against type as the stuffy Linus, while both Holden and Hepburn are at the height of their star power, and director Billy Wilder is in the midst of his most creative period.
