From Where I Stand: Click & Tell Photography Club at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center

November 14, 2026–March 7, 2027, Gallery Obscura

Click & Tell is a summer photography club for teens that celebrates creativity, curiosity, and the power of storytelling through images. This Gallery Obscura exhibition From Where I Stand: Click & Tell: Photography Club at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center features a vibrant collection of photographs by participating students that showcase the resilience and imagination of Rochester's youth.

One of the many free summer programs offered by the City of Rochester's Department of Recreation and Human Services at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center, the club provides young people with opportunities to learn new skills, build friendships, and grow in a supportive environment. Guided by mentors, participants learn the fundamentals of photography—composition, lighting, and perspective—while developing confidence in expressing their unique points of view.

Throughout the summer, students photograph the people, places, and moments that matter most to them, learn to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, and transform simple snapshots into meaningful works of art. Through hands-on activities, photo walks, and collaborative projects, participants strengthen their communication and technical skills, learn to observe their world with curiosity and intention, and foster lasting connections with their peers and community.

Click & Tell helps teens discover that every image offers a new perspective and every photographer has a unique story to share through their lens.
