The Wild Party

Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 7:30 p.m., Dryden Theatre

(James Ivory, US 1975, 95 min.)

Parties. In a party only Hollywood could create, James Coco stars as a Fatty Arbuckle-inspired film actor who is attempting a comeback at the end of the silent period. He organizes a soiree to premiere a new film that he has produced with his own money and to interest studio executives in continuing his career, but as the party goes on and the alcohol flows, it turns into a bacchanal that will change his life forever. Loosely based on Joseph Moncure March's controversial 1928 poem, Ivory steps away from his traditional films to create a raunchy romp worthy of Tinseltown's legendary debauchery.
