Dog Day Afternoon

Based on a true story and set in the dog days of August 1972, Sidney Lumet’s film is a gripping tale of a bank robbery gone wrong. Pacino, sweaty and anxious, delivers his most passionate and engaging performance as a driven man who robs a bank in order to pay for his lover’s sex change operation and help support his family.
