Salman Khan reinvented himself as an action star with Wanted (2009) and this film, which has spawned a series of sequels. Khan is Chulbul Pandey, who has grown up in the shadow of his half-brother, living with his mother and her second husband. He joins the police force, seeing himself as a protector of the underdog. During an investigation, he runs afoul of corrupt politician Chedi Singh (Sonu Sood), who soon plots to disgrace the nosy policeman. Meanwhile, both Chulbul and his brother fall in love with women they cannot have, leading the sibling rivalry to boil over. As Chedi closes in, the brothers must decide to work together to take him down.
