Filibus

(Mario Roncoroni, Italy 1915, 76 min., DCP)

Filibus, the mysterious aviatrix, is a master of disguise and a notorious jewel thief. Rappelling down from her airship on the unsuspecting rich, she makes her living off of those who have made their living off of others. When renowned detective Kutt Hendy is put on her trail, she decides to pose as the Baroness Troximond to frame the detective himself for her crimes! Recently restored by the Eye Filmmuseum in the Netherlands, this wild action film looks as good as it did a century ago, including its original tinting, toning, and Desmet color.

Live piano accompaniment by Dr. Philip C. Carli.
