(Victor Fleming, US 1926, 86 min., 35mm)
Clara Bow is at her most coquettish in Mantrap, almost single handedly giving the titular Canadian retreat its name. Her roundelay of lovers amuses the townsfolk, embarrasses her husband, and frustrates a New York lawyer who had hoped for a restive vacation. One of James Wong Howe’s first films as director of photography, this preservation comes from the George Eastman Museum collection.
Live piano accompaniment by Dr. Philip C. Carli.
