A Mighty Wind (2003)

When folk music producing icon Irving Steinbloom passes away, his son Jonathan decides to mount a reunion concert to be televised on public television. Standing in his way are the histories and egos of several of the performing acts, including The New Main Street Singers, who have gone through several changes over the years; The Folksmen, who haven’t played together in years; and Mitch and Mickey, the centerpiece of the concert whose public romance was played out through their performances and their music. The best of Guest’s mockumentaries, it features most of his returning players, including Eugene Levy, Cathering O’Hara, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Bob Balaban, Jane Lynch, John Michael Higgins, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, and Jennifer Coolidge.
