Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

The Lonely Island (star Andy Samberg and directors Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone) are the creative force behind this skewering of modern musical icons. Samberg is Conner4Real, a former boy band star who has gone solo after refusing to acknowledge the contributions of his band mates. When his second album bombs due to Conner’s ego, he tries everything to reach the top of the fame ladder again, from sponsorships to stage gimmicks to reality show antics. When he finally realizes that his first friends are his best friends, it may be too late. The live proposal to Ashley (Imogen Poots), involving a string quartet, wolves, and Seal is a highlight.
