In 1963, Washington Post publisher Philip L. Graham told assembled Newsweek reporters that journalism was the “first rough draft of history.” Eight years later his widow Kay (Meryl Streep), now running the struggling paper, faced her first big challenge to publishing when her reporters acquired a copy of the “Pentagon Papers.” Facing legal and political pressure from the current administration, the Post and its staff must take a stand, risking both professional integrity and financial stability. The cast also includes Tom Hanks, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Alison Brie, and Carrie Coon.
