The World is Waiting for the Sunrise: A Sing-along with Maggie Paxson

Thursday, September 11, 2025, 6 p.m., Dryden Theatre

Join us at the Eastman Museum for a sing-along concert with Maggie Paxson. She will transport us back in time, to George Eastman’s era, singing popular songs like Over the Rainbow and Let’s Fall in Love. People of all ages are welcome, and attendees are encouraged to bring their singing voices!

Attendees are also invited to dress in period-inspired attire reflecting the 1910s to 1930s. A large paper moon will be a perfect backdrop for concert-goers' photos. Guests are encouraged to step into the spirit of the era—dress to impress and capture the moment beneath the paper moon.

Guests who wish to participate in a costume contest will have the opportunity to take the stage, where the audience will vote to select a winner. The recipient will receive a George Eastman Museum tote and swag.

Maggie is the creator of Bomb Shelter Cafes—sing-along events inspired by the collective music of embattled communities in the era of the Second World War. From cozy living rooms to Manhattan apartment rooftops, libraries to bookshops, theaters to community stages, Bomb Shelter Cafes provide opportunities for people to raise their voices together in troubled times and create a moment of unity in a divided world.

This program is part of the Rochester Fringe Festival.
