Anthony LaLena is a versatile young guitarist currently residing in Rochester, New York, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music. He serves as a teaching assistant for Dr. Nicholas Goluses, teaching guitar history, fretboard harmony, pedagogy, and private lessons. He is also currently the intern instructor of guitar at the Eastman Community Music School. Anthony has performed in the United States and Europe as both a soloist and chamber musician. Anthony actively performs and studies a wide variety of music but takes particular interest in the music of the early twentieth century and contemporary works, and has performed in concerts for the American Composers Alliance in New York City.
Robin Steitz is a second year Master’s student in vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music. At Eastman she was a winner of Eastman’s 2016 Voice Concerto Competition, and performed Lutosławski’s Chantefleurs et Chantefableswith the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra. Previous opera roles include ‘Suor Genovieffa’ in Suor Angelica with Oberlin in Italy, as well as ‘Miss Jessel’ in Turn of the Screw and ‘La Fée’ in Cendrillon with Eastman Opera Theater. This past spring Ms. Steitz also won Third Prize at the Friends of Eastman Opera Vocal Competition and joined the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra for a performance of the aria from Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5.
