Artist Bio

Koki Tanaka is a 26 year old 2nd year Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the Eastman School of Music. Koki received Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington and Master of Music degree from Eastman School of Music and is a School of Music scholarship recipient. Koki was accepted to participate in various music festivals: Indiana University Jacobs School of Music: Summer String Academy, the ENCORE School for Strings, Marrowstone Music Festival, and Zephyr: International Chamber Music Course and Festival in Italy. Koki won the Performing Arts Festival of Eastside (PAFE), the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra Young Artist Debut Competition and played concerto with Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, and Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Koki is extensively involved in chamber music at Eastman School of Music. Koki studied with Tamiko Kojima, Hsuan (Tony) Lee, Ronald Patterson, Lynn Blakeslee, Renée Jolles, and currently studying with Mikhail Kopelman and working as a teaching assistant.
