Members are invited to join Museum Photographer Elizabeth Chiang for a rare behind-the-scenes look at the Eastman Museum photography studio.
The studio serves the ongoing digitization needs of the museum’s varied collections—and is the go-to place for product photography for the Museum Shop, promotional imaging for marketing, and documenting the exhibition spaces and the mansion. On this virtual tour, you will see the workspace with dedicated stations for flat art, framed artwork, and three-dimensional object photography. And you’ll hear about the studio’s various capabilities: The studio maintains rigorous standards and protocols to produce high-quality digital referents of collection objects. In addition to reflective and transmissive imaging, the studio also offers 3D scanning and RTI (Reflectance Transformation Imaging) capture. Join us to see where (and how) the digital magic happens!
