In just four years, participants in the annual George Eastman House Photo Finish 5K have raised more than $1 million to support nonprofit organizations in our community. Also known as the Philanthropy Challenge—and in the spirit of George Eastman’s own philanthropy— the race benefits George Eastman House, as well as a broad range of causes, from affordable housing and educational support to cultural enrichment and medical research.
This year’s Photo Finish 5K is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, at 8 a.m. Runners, walkers, and people using wheelchairs are welcome! Starting and ending at George Eastman House, the scenic 3.1-mile course takes participants past a variety of other community landmarks, including the Memorial Art Gallery, the American Red Cross, School of the Arts, Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester Museum & Science Center, and Strasenburgh Planetarium. You can join the fun as a participant or donor.
If you’re looking for a cause to support or a team to join, consider raising funds for George Eastman House. Like all nonprofit organizations, the museum depends on contributed revenue and fundraising to maintain operations and deliver on its mission. And, no need to limit yourself to one cause—our race fundraising tool, CrowdRise, makes it easy to support multiple organizations.
Participant registration is now open at photofinish5k.eastmanhouse.org. Let’s get started on that next million!
