Members-Only Virtual Program: Reading Images

Join the Department of Photography’s Curatorial Assistant Louis Chavez for a virtual presentation that introduces tools and exercises to practice visual analysis for photography and photobook publications. 

 

This presentation will outline methods for sustained engagement with photographic objects and will offer an overview of contemporary photobook sequence and design. Participants are also encouraged to visit the exhibition New Directions: Recent Acquisitions, currently on view in the museum’s Project Gallery and available online at Eastman.org/new-directions, to see examples of photographs that exist in both print and book form.
