Eastman Museum Assistant Conservator Sarah Casto and Conservator in Charge Taina Meller
Members are invited to join museum conservators Taina Meller and Sarah Casto for a virtual behind-the-scenes look at the Eastman Museum conservation lab.
Each object selected for exhibition or loan is carefully examined in the conservation lab. During examination, conservators document the object’s characteristics and condition, propose treatment to maintain or improve its state of preservation, and ensure the object can be safely displayed. On this virtual tour, the conservators will introduce the lab and many of the tools and equipment they use to examine, analyze, and treat photographs. Join us to see where the conservators work to care for and preserve the museum’s photographic collections!
