Artists in Conversation: Photographs and Language - CANCELLED

Thursday, January 23, 2025, 5:30 p.m., Dryden Theatre

This event has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Featuring artists Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa and Lucas Blalock, with curator Phil Taylor.

Staged in an inversion of the typical order of things, the event will begin with Wolukau-Wanambwa available for questions from the audience about his practice and the exhibition Scene at Eastman, on view in the Project Gallery. This will be followed by an on-stage
conversation among Woluaku-Wanambwa, Blalock, and Taylor that is grounded in a consideration of the complex dynamics of photographs and language, and will build upon recent writings and exhibitions by all three speakers.

Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa is an artist and writer. Lucas Blalock is a Brooklyn-based artist and faculty in the photography program at Bard College. Phil Taylor is associate curator, Department of Photography at the George Eastman Museum.
