Wish You Were Here: John Chiara

Thursday, September 10, 2015, 6 p.m., Dryden Theatre

Using a camera obscura mounted on a trailer, John Chiara works by the side of the road, pointing his lens at in-between landscapes—obstructed, fenced, developed, commodified, and littered with markers of human presence. He is interested in turning these places into images of memory, of seeing, of light and the means of its recording. Book signing to follow.

For fifteen years, this popular photography lecture series has brought artists and photojournalists to George Eastman Museum to share stories and photographs and answer audience questions. Lectures are in the Dryden Theatre. Free to members; $6 general, $3 students, unless otherwise noted.

Wish You Were Here is generously sponsored by museum member Dr. Thomas N. Tischer.
