The first rule of Renegade Tours is TO talk about Renegade Tours. We are thrilled to announce the return of our unconventional museum tours at the George Eastman Museum, which have been on hiatus since 2019. We are partnering with Jacob Cornfield from Game Night Rochester on August 30 to host a game-night themed Renegade Tour exploring our Adam Ekberg: Minor Spectacles exhibition. Guests can expect a brief tour surrounding Ekberg’s works and a discussion of game theory. Then, guests will transition to actually playing games AT the museum. Throw your dusty art history textbooks out the window because we are here to roll the dice and see where the night takes us.
Over a professional life spanning seven decades, Edward Steichen (1879–1973) established himself as one of the most important figures in the history of photography. What is less known is that for much of that time, Steichen devoted himself to the nurturing of plants and gardens, an activity that sustained him and through which he developed ardently held beliefs regarding the relationship of art, nature, and creativity.
