Digital Art: Inspiration to Production with Flower City Arts Center (Session 2)

Monday, August 24–Friday, August 28, 2020, Off Site

In this week-long Flower City Arts Center workshop, students (ages 13-17) will use the art of James Welling, presented by George Eastman Museum in the exhibition Choreograph, as a jumping off point in the creation of their own digital artworks. Students will visit the exhibition at George Eastman Museum and talk with curator in charge Lisa Hostetler to get a deeper understanding of the work and see Welling's large format prints in person. At Flower City Arts Center, students will work in our Digital Lab and learn technical skills in Adobe Photoshop to combine images using color channels and selection tools. Students will learn to use our large format printer to create big prints of their own to take home.

Included: Materials, field-trip to George Eastman Museum and a virtual meeting with artist James Welling.

Workshop is held at the Flower City Arts Center, 713 Monroe Avenue, Rochester.

$275 nonmember, $250 member (FCAC & GEM)
