Workshop for 12 participants
Guest instructor Bonny Lhotka will teach this special workshop in which participants will experiment with using digital images to make photographic objects, creating digital prints as something other than works of ink on paper. Working with alternative image-capture methods, participants will print images onto transfer film and transfer the inkjet print to a variety of substrates, including metal, glass, wood, acrylic, glass, and paper. The image transfer processes that Lhotka has developed are inspired by historical photographic processes. Bonny Pierce Lhotka is an artist, photographer, printmaker, and author. She has written three books as well as articles for books and magazines. She is the recipient of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award for Technology in the Arts. Her work is in the collection of the Smithsonian, US Department of State, US embassies, and both private and corporate collections. She is represented by Walker Fine Art in Denver, Colorado. She is the inventor of the DASS Art image transfer processes.
