Collodion chloride and gelatin chloride were some of the most popular printing papers in the late 19th and early 20th century. But what makes them so unique?
- Both printing processes deliver beautiful warm-toned prints with extremely high resolution.
- You can watch the print right in front of your eyes.
- You can also print with the sun!
- All you need is your chemistry, good photographic negatives, a printing frame, and a sink with some running water.
In this workshop, Historic Process Specialist Nick Brandreth will teach you how to mix both collodion and gelatin chloride emulsions from scratch, as well as helpful tips and tricks for printing and toning your printed out photographs.
Limited to ten participants.
