Through the power of editing alone, Smith encapsulates his contemplation of the experience of moviegoing with a feature-length narrative comprising multitudinous actors’ emotional reactions to movies they are watching . . . within movies. Smith’s film invites audiences to contemplate the simultaneous isolation and intimacy of moviegoing and reminisce about favorites from the spectacular span of cinematic history.
