Michael Keaton to receive George Eastman Award
Rochester, N.Y., April 20, 2016—
The George Eastman Museum will honor actor Michael Keaton with the George Eastman Award, the museum’s highest honor in motion pictures, on Thursday, June 9. The award recognizes Keaton’s distinguished contribution to the art of film. In accepting the honor, he joins the company of film legends such as Charles Chaplin, Gary Cooper, Joan Crawford, Cecil B. DeMille, Greta Garbo, Lillian Gish, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Martin Scorsese, James Stewart, Meryl Streep, and most recently Michael Douglas. Rare screening of LAURA (1944) presented tonight as part of the 2nd Nitrate Picture Show
Rochester, N.Y., April 28, 2016—
The George Eastman Museum has released the official program for this weekend’s 2nd Nitrate Picture Show, the world’s first festival of film conservation. A rare screening of the vintage 35mm print of Otto Preminger’s Laura (US 1944) will round out the first day of the festival, beginning at 10 p.m. in the Dryden Theatre. A limited number of tickets are still available.

Garden Tour
Tours of the historic gardens are offered at 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, May through September. Additional tours are offered at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in June, July, and August. Tours are free for museum members and included with museum admission. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

George Eastman Museum collection featured at Bentonville Film Festival and Crystal Bridges
Rochester, N.Y., May 04, 2016—
The George Eastman Museum has been invited to screen two films from its collection at the second annual Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) in Bentonville, Arkansas this week. In conjunction with the festival, a group of photographs of legendary actresses from the George Eastman Museum collection will also be featured in the Reel Women: Icons and Identity in Film exhibition at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.
