The Khans of Bollywood @ 60
Three of Indian cinema’s biggest stars—Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan—are all turning sixty this year. They are not related to each other, but each is part of an extended family working in the Indian film industry. They have each appeared in more than sixty films over the last four decades of cinema, and their films account for six of the top ten highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time. Phil(m) Fest 2025: The Comedies
Following our popular year-long look at the career of Philip Seymour Hoffman in 2023, we’re celebrating his birthday every year with a condensed, themed series of films near his birthday on July 23. In 2024 we did his blockbusters and this year, we’re looking at his comedy films. Though Hoffman is primarily known for his seriousness and depth, he was equally hilarious in comedic roles. From feel-good romantic comedies such as Along Came Polly to the legendary cult classic, The Big Lebowski, Hoffman showed us a far sillier and more humorous side of himself.
