Presented free to seniors (62+) on Monday afternoons through October. Beginning this March, our senior matinee screenings are fully incorporated into our regular film calendar. Cinematic classics from the George Eastman House collection will be presented in 35mm, the way they were originally screened and were meant to be seen. This series is made possible in part by the Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation and the Monroe County Office for the Aging.
CIA researcher Joe Turner (Robert Redford) spends his days probing through magazines, advertisements, and books looking for hidden messages. One day he presents a book to his superiors, pointing out its history and peculiar story. A few days later he returns from his lunch break to find all six of his colleagues murdered. Before long he realizes he cannot trust the CIA, falling into a cat-and-mouse game with the CIA director and learning that he’s stumbled into something much bigger than he imagined. Shot on location in New York City and featuring a stellar cast, this fast-paced, unpredictable feature gave a much needed shot into the arm to the conspiracy-thriller genre.
